This is an excellent book for anyone that suffers from chronic headaches. It will help you identify the different types of headache as well as how the headaches occur in the brain. He explains the different medications that are out there and how they work. There are also some natural remedies, such as magnesium and B2. It is written in an easy to understand format for the general public, so you won't have to be a doctor to understand this book. If you're having lots of headaches, definitely read this book.

I would tell anyone with recurring headaches to read this book. Finding the cause for my headaches remains a mystery. There are so many facets to migraines that this book left me feeling I might never understand what the root cause is. What I experience could also be have multiple causes. I may never really know but at least now I have a greater understanding of what I am experiencing.

I have been a migraine sufferer for over 40 years. This book helped me understand migraines in a general sense and gave me helpful knowledge as I discussed treatment with my doctor. I especially enjoyed the description of the different types of medication. I learned what each drug targets and was able to better understand what works and what doesn't for me and why. I would recommend this tool as a source to educate yourself as you make decisions with your health care provider. I feel more empowered to take ownership of my treatment after reading this book.

Practical advice and info for the layman, well organized and easy to follow. But just because it's written for the layman, don't underestimate the value of this book. It's helped me already.

Anyone who experiences headaches and Migraines or knows someone who does needs some good books about headaches and Migraine in our libraries. This book is a quite worthy addition to anyone's library. Written "for general readers," the book is, "a comprehensive overview of causes, diagnoses, and treatments" written in a logical, easy flowing style. You'll find it complete, up-to-date, and easy to understand. Bravo!

I am an otolaryngologist (aka ENT doctor) who sees a lot of patients with "sinus headache", most of whom have migraines. Although this book is presumably written for the lay person, and does a nice job for that audience, I have highly recommended this book to many doctors in training, and for physicians who see migraine patients, but may not have a lot of personal experience or professional experience with treating migraines. Its very readable, concise, and practical. I'm going to buy a couple of copies for my students to use while they are working with me!

This is a wonderful book about headaches - it is a thin book (so don't get intimidated). I saw Dr Tepper when he practiced in Seattle he helped me a lot. He is a hard working and dedicated physician. I am so glad he wrote this.

I originally started purchasing picture puzzle books years ago for my kids, but I am the one who ended up enjoying them. I love the challenge of trying to find the differences. This Amazing Picture Puzzles book by Thunder Bay Press is a 287-page spiral bound collection of over 200 puzzles, ranging in difficulty from simple to difficult to complex. The pictures are brightly colored and mainly include people, cityscapes, and animals. If you don’t mind writing in the book, you can circle the differences, then check off the circles at the bottom of the page to keep track of how many differences you have found. (If you plan on sharing the book or redoing the puzzles at a later date, I do not recommend writing in the book.) If you cannot find a difference, the answers are located at the back of the book. I find the puzzles in this book comparable to those in the Life picture puzzle series. I had not paid attention to the dimensions of the book before ordering and expected the book to be larger. The book (not including the spiral binding) is approximately 6.4 x 8.5 inches. I would recommend this book for anyone who enjoys this type of puzzle.

I love doing the picture puzzle books - the reason for the 3 stars is that there were SO MANY picture puzzles that I've gotten in other books, so I felt it was kind of a waste of money, duplication.

Fantastic Find the Differences book. My son and I spend quality time together looking for what’s different. Sometimes we even race each other to see who can find the most first.

Another good book on "finding the difference." Good brain exercise!

Book keeps falling apart. But it does have nice pictures..

Love the picture puzzles.

There are many differences that are hardly distinguishable and the spiral does not hold the pages in place.

The book explains concepts fairly well, and has decent example problems. However, I have an issue with it especially because it is a statistics book, where there are very minor equation shifts for very similar types of problems--it would be really nice if the book included a sort of equation sheet at the end of each chapter, stating the type of problem that each equation is useful for. Like after the chapter on hypothesis tests (which really blend together), it would be great if there were something like "Two-tailed hypothesis test, large sample: this equation; Chi-squared hypothesis test: this equation," etc. It had little boxes where there were important equations, but a summary sheet would have been incredibly helpful.

My students, on the whole like statistics. I think the text plays a key part in this. The problems are realistic and not over repetitive. I use R as my programming language for the course, with no difficulty.

Awesome book. Great examples and easy to follow hw problems.

Reading though the text book isn't too horrible, the book generally makes sense. My two main vices with this book is that it is sometimes difficult to understand what a specific symbol represents or where they got the value for it. I also don't like how you have chapters 1-10, the tables, answers to odd # questions then the index. It makes the tables incredibly difficult to find (except for the ones on the front and back cover. I recommend putting tabs into your own copy so you can find the tables easier.

The textbook served the purpose well for my stats class that it was required for. The book is pretty well laid out and has good summary boxes after each section. The one thing I would warn is that the same professor that wrote this book also wrote "Principles of Statistics for Engineers and Scientists", which is not the same. If you are getting this as a required textbook for a course, make sure you are getting the right textbook!

This book was alright for learning engineering statistics, but it wasn't as easy to follow and 'dumbed down' as I hoped it would be. It was a very challenging class and I wish the text book had done a little better job of explaining.

This is a wonderful, clear book for an introduction to statistics. It has plenty of concrete examples and it's well paced and laid out. I've used it extensively for my Ph.D. research in space physics. One word of caution: there's not really any discussion about time-series data, so if you're dealing with dependent samples or an autoregressive process, this book will only get you half way there.

This book is clear and concise. It's also very easy to understand and follow. I would've given 5 stars, but there was a little tear in the back cover.

Every box contains green cards minus the 1st grade box, which contains blue.I have 8 kids and all in different grades, so when Kid 1 pulls out her 5th grade green cards to study, then Kid 2 pulls out his 4th grade green cards to study, then Kid 3 pulls out his 3rd grade green cards to study, AND THEN Baby 8 comes along and decides to grab the lot of them and throw them across the table....there's no way to identify which cards belong with which grade.Poorly thought out and executed. Makes me want to rip my hair out that someone didn't think this through. Now I'll go and label every single card in every single box (we have 5) so I know where they go.Other than that, the cards are fine. They are cardstock, maybe a bit thinner, and tend to bend, but for their purposes they work okay.UPDATE: I ended up putting a red dot on the cards that belonged in the 3rd grade red box, a purple dot on the ones from the 5th grade purple box, etc.

My son is 6 years old and in the 2nd grade. He will be 7 in a few weeks. I really like using these cards to help introduce new words and definitions to him. So far he has learned the definition of the words: Acquire, Active, Adopt, Advice, Accompany, Accept, Account, Advantage, Actual and Absolute and can use them in sentences to further verify his understanding of the word. I did not get the 2nd grade cards because other reviewers advised they were too easy. We go over 3 cards a week...sometimes 5. A nice pace so by the time the summer gets here we can begin working on the 4th grade words. These words are not too difficult yet not too easy. It provides the perfect balance of challenge without being discouraging to the child. Would definitely recommend.

If the kid has earned an hour of computer with good behavior, he can read me 74 of these or spell 10 of them, or write down maybe 15 of them, and then use the computer. I like this set because it has the same word on both sides, has a definition, and pronunciation. They are not thick cards, but I can live with that : ) They are a useful tool for him to learn new words and spelling, and putting the set away when he's done. Love the durable box too!

These cards are amazing. The word in the front with a sentence to give more context and on the back the word appears again with how to pronounce it as well as a definition. The cards are not thin contrary to some reviews and the box is an nice way to see how many they’ve learned along the way. I highly recommend these cards!

The cards work great for my classroom. I pull out the cards while the students are line, or when I have those extra few minutes to fill. Also, I do LOVE the fact that on one side of the card, the word is written in the standard spelling, while on the other the word is broken up into syllables, which is PERFECT for my classroom of English Language Learners. For Sylvan Learning and publisher: The font size could be larger for both the words and definition. There is a lot of useable and open space on the cards.

These flashcards helped, and it was fun to study! I try to keep things silly and fun for my son, because sometimes school can be boring and even more boring when he gets home & needs to study again! Sometimes he says "enough already!" But he actually enjoyed these cards. His reading has improved because of his confidence from studying with these!

Seems intense for a 3rd header but then my spelling and vocabulary isn’t the best. I’m homeschooling my 3rd grader for the last half of the school year so these are great since my skill set on this subject isn’t great. We do a few each week and review

Great words, and love that the words are phonetically written on the other side..Since I homeschool my 3rd grade son, I go through several words every week, and show him the definitions..He reads the sentence, and we discuss it...These have been a very helpful asset to our schooling..

Seems to me an advance in Zohar scholarship, tracing interweaving of Christian-Jewish influence, areas of possible multiple authorship including and in addition to Moses De Leon, and a profound study of messianic thinking. It enriched my awareness of the interaction of psychoanalysis with Jewish mysticism (see Eigen, Kabbalah and Psychoanalysis, 2012). Matte-Blanco's symmetrical thinking and Bion's oscillation of breaking apart and coming together are writ large in Zoharic images and language. A lot of good examples of what I call "all one" experiencing vis a vis "distinction" experiencing, a distinction-union structure that permeates experience (Eigen, Contact With the Depths, 2011, Chapter 1). Another profound link with psychoanalysis is emphasis on trauma and repair, a sense of defectiveness and need for making things better. Wilfred R. Bion once remarked, "I use the Kabbalah as a framework for psychoanalysis." One of his points of emphasis was difficulty in taking our own emotional intensity. The author utilizes several views to analyze the Zohar. This book is probably as good as Scholem's short work on the Zohar. The English translation of the Zohar (or Sepher ha Zohar or Book of Splendor) is 2000 pages long in 5 volumes (by Simon, Sperling, et al). It is only a partial translation as much of it was untranslatable due to symbolism, plays on words, etc. Thus, most modern "commentaries" on the Zohar are less than adequate--most are quite short and simply don't even come close to doing it justice--even when limiting themselves to a few topics of interest. This book is no exception. Furthermore, many modern works are academic exercises without benefit of actual Kabbalistic experiences--meditations, visualizations, etc. Still, the author seems to be respectful of the root text and perhaps I expect too much from modern works. He shows his sensitivity in my favorite quote in his book on page 56: "The inner world of man's imagination took precedence over the external world. The latter owed its very existence to the external projection of thought by means of words."
