Walks through his movies produced in order and how they morphed him into the man he is today.

I used this book for class. Really awesome book with great insight about David Fincher as an auteur. Straight to the point, covers all his movies upto Gone Girl (Gone Girl interview is not in this edition).

A must for the Fincher fan.

An interesting book about Fincher as a director. Very precise and technical, yet absorbing.

Bought it for my daughter who said it was the best film book she read so far.

The only reason I'm not giving this book 5 stars is the quality of the build. At first glance this book is nice. But as you start using it, almost immediatly you will start to see creases towards the binding of the book on the cover. It's impossible to avoid. And as someoen who plans on having this book for a long time... this is pretty annoying.But other than that the book is great. I wish there were more interviews and some of them I wish didn't repeat as much stuff that had already been given in other interviews but overall it's a very good read. Very inspirational for up and coming filmmakers such as myself.The other thing I would note is that there are several typos throughout the book. For example it will be an interview going back and forth between DF (David Fincher) and TL (or something) and one of the lines will say DG instead of DF. I'm pretty sure that actually happens multiple times.I STILL give this book 4 stars because I don't care about that. I'm a huge Fincher fan and as long as its not all over the place and I know that is meant to be said... I'll suck it up.

I am really enjoying The Conversations with Filmmakers series. This compilation of interviews and anecdotes concerning David Fincher was extremely interesting. I found them to be easy reading, I like the ability to come in and out of the book at any point and not feel lost. The arrangement and format of the book lends itself really well to discussion, there are so many compelling avenues to pursue. Film and video devotees will love adding this series to their private collections.*I received my copy from NetGalley.com in exchange for an honest review.
