This book is such a necessary addition, not only to a fangirl's bookshelf, but to history. So many of women's stories and contributions to male dominated fields, STEM, entertainment, and the military, are often entirely erased from existence in history. Here we have it set in stone, 100 pioneers in a field that oftentimes is only ever associated with adolescent men. It's organized into several categories, covers a global reach, and includes so many different voices that it's almost impossible not to relate to every single one. Amazing book, perfect gift for the gamer in your life.
I keep this on my coffee table and I've had people notice and strike up conversations about it. It's so easy to read, it's great as a tool to learn more about my industry as well. I'm sharing knowledge with others while learning myself. I don't sit and read through it in one sitting. I had the chance to view this book yesterday for a long while . If you really want book about women in gaming, this will dissapoint you. You will get a book missing real important people in gaming, and just a bunch of "Twitter influencers". This is basically "Women in Gaming: Echo chamber of the year edition". It is published as a way to pat in the back a group, a echo chamber, of social justice warriors that just happen to like gaming.It is a shame because a book covering this issue IS needed. Just not like this.Any good thing? The presentation and the quality was decent.
