These historical maps are great for referencing, especially when used in conjunction with history lessons. So A+ for content, but D for delivery...the book doesn't lay flat, the maps that are two pages are even more difficult to read with the stiff spine prohibiting you from using it as reference material...or barely being able to see it at all since it is too close to the centerfold. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make this a spiral bound book, or even a hardcover that can lay flat. I will be taking this to my local office supply store and get it converted to spiral...in that format I will absolutely use it every day during our homeschool history lessons. Despite the terrible functionality of the book the content is worth it! It has been very difficult to find a decent compilation of historical maps. These are great, colorful, and informative. Just fix the format and it's easily a 10 star book!
I was excited to get this for my kids to use in history. I purchased 2 and returned them both immediately. The maps are way too small and very confusing to read. The country borders are not easily defined and there is way too much crammed into the pages. I was very disappointed it was not what I expected at all. The star is for the seller because they were easy to deal with and gave me a quick return! If you are looking for a map to use with MOH curriculumI do not recommend this one! Especially for younger children. I ended up ordering SOTW activity book and we will copy the maps from it. They work best for us.
Handy and interesting but too small to easily see detail and binding would have been better spiral, hard to open/view.
I thought it would be larger maps.
What a fantastic historical Atlas. Detailed, well organized, well researched - I loved it!
I've been reading various books about ancient history (the black plague, the first crusade, the life and times of vlad dracula, the vikings) and generally struggle with geography on a normal day. this is a great reference to track all these times.
I had to purchase a second atlas to get the information I wanted I wanted information from the ancient world
excellent to have it nearby while reading history
